Geely Cityray passed testing: ZR spoke about the pros and cons of the crossover

The main advantage of the Cityrey compared to the younger Coolray is the space in the back row and a much larger trunk volume. In terms of driving comfort, the new product clearly wins thanks to the independent suspension as opposed to the beam of the Coolrey. The suspension is a bit harsh, but the car steers beautifully.

Despite the increased weight of the 1.5 turbo engine with a power of 147 hp. and the settings of the 7-speed “robot” are enough for quick driving. It’s premature to talk about the engine’s service life, since it appeared only two years ago, but hope for reliability is given by the fact that the unit was designed jointly with Volvo.

The expert also noted six airbags and heated rear seats as pluses.

Among the minuses, the expert noted the high level of noise in the cabin, attributing it to the Chaoyang tires, the operation of the media system with slowdowns and problems with connecting devices via Bluetooth, the operation of the obstacle recognition system, which is too overly cautious even in the “late” mode.

Prices for Cityray are in the range of 2.7-3.1 million, and in terms of choosing between the small Coolray for 2.64-2.98 million rubles or Atlas for 3.29-3.59 million rubles, everything is obvious. But the ZR specialist recalled that the Belgee X70 (formerly Geely Atlas Pro) is on the market for 2.67-2.79 million rubles in a front-wheel drive version, concluding that “Chinese marketers are clearly not familiar with the term “internal cannibalism”.”
