Google has the functionalities of AI chatbot Gemini within Gmail extensive. It is now possible to have Gemini schedule appointments in your Google Calendar from Gmail. Unfortunately, the function does not yet work in Dutch.
The functionality that connects Gemini, Gmail and Google Calendar has now been rolled out. You can only use it with the languages English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. It is not clear when the function can also be used in Dutch.
You can access Gemini from a side panel on the side of your Gmail screen. You can now ask the chatbot to put an appointment in your calendar. Android Authority notes that the options are still limited at the moment. For example, it is not yet possible to add guests to an appointment, or to let the bot find a hole in your agenda. Google plans to expand the capabilities in the future.
Gemini connects Workspace apps together
You can also perform actions in other Workspace apps, such as Google Docs and Sheets, from the Gemini sidebar in Gmail. That has been possible for a long time. The side panel can also be called up via the other Workspace apps. You can also use Gemini in Gmail to help you write emails. Now let’s hope that Google will also come up with a Dutch version.
