Hathazari Upazila Chhatra League General Secretary Md. Hasan (40) was arrested by the police.
Hathajari Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Habibur Rahman confirmed the arrest of the reporter on Thursday (November 14) night. Earlier on Wednesday night, Shahjalal International Airport immigration police arrested him.
Chhatra League leader arrested. Hasan is the son of deceased Nurul Alam of Jobra village in Fatepur union of upazila.
A total of five cases including a murder case are reported against the arrested Chhatra League General Secretary Hasan so far. According to police sources, it is being investigated whether there are more cases against him.
According to a confidential source, the arrested Hasan secretly left the country for the United Arab Emirates after August 5 to avoid arrest. However, sometimes he used to come to Chittagong secretly through Dhaka airport and leave the country again after ten days in Dhaka airport.
When the matter came to the attention of the Hathajari Model Police Station, they reported the matter to the Dhaka Airport Immigration. Meanwhile, when he arrived at Dhaka Airport from Dubai last Wednesday night, the Immigration Police arrested him and informed the Hathajari Model Police Station. Later, Hathajari Model Police Station went to Dhaka Airport and brought the arrested Chhatra League General Secretary Md Hasan to the police station.
When asked, Hathajari Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge OC Habibur Rahman told Daily Azadi at around 11:00 pm on Thursday that the arrested accused named Ehahar Hasan was sent to the court on Thursday morning.
