LVMH has experienced a coming and going. At 69, Antonio Belloni, the deputy CEO of LVMH since 2001 and the chairman of the executive committee of the world leader in luxury (213,000 employees, 86.2 billion euros in revenue in 2023) has given up his two seats to Stéphane Bianchi.
Aged 59, this graduate of Sciences Po Paris is responsible for the strategic and operational supervision of the group’s subsidiaries and the presidents of the world’s regions. His portfolio will include the group’s digital transformation and data.
Stéphane Bianchi joined LVMH in 2018. He had been head of the group’s Watches and Jewelry division (Bulgari, Chaumet, TAG Heuer, Tiffany&Co, Zenith, etc.) since 2020. After starting his career at Arthur Andersen, he worked for the Rocher group (Yves Rocher, Petit Bateau, etc.), where he was notably CEO. He was also on the board of directors of Maus Frères (Lacoste, Gant, etc.).
This major change in management signals a generational renewal at the head of the group. Among the key projects of LVMH that Stéphane Bianchi will have to lead is that of its environmental transition. The group plans to work on its scope 3 through a dedicated plan that includes the luxury giant’s service providers. In addition, LVMH is in charge of designing the medals for the Paris Olympic Games.
In 2024, the group rose to first place in the ranking of French recruiters established by L’Usine Nouvelle, with 15,200 hires planned this year. For his part, “Toni” Belloni left the board of directors and was appointed president of LVMH Italy, after twenty-three years in the group. He will be responsible for strategic missions with the CEO, Bernard Arnault.
