Summer is a great season for fashion, when you just need to wear simple shorts, an interesting t-shirt and you’re a hottie. However, that ended a long time ago, we didn’t even notice autumn and it’s winter here. But how to dress on frosty days so that you don’t freeze and look stylish at the same time?
Coat or jacket?
When choosing a top, which should be the warmest, be sure to think about whether to choose an elegant coat or a tried-and-true down jacket. If you choose a coat, make sure that it contains as little artificial fibers as possible, and on the contrary, as much wool as possible. This will guarantee that you will always be warm. You can then choose single-row or double-row switching. You can’t go wrong with either one. Then choose the length of the coat according to where you will go with it most often. If you plan to have coat to suitalways choose a long cut. A short coat goes best with jeans and casual wear.
If you are confused about the color, we have only one piece of advice for you. Forget black, you’re not going to a funeral after all. Grey, brown, beige, coat with or without a checkered pattern. You can’t go wrong with these options.
If you don’t like coats and don’t feel comfortable in them, you can’t go wrong with the so-called down jackets. However, choose carefully. You don’t want to look like a circus ball. First, focus on a simple style, without unnecessary patterns and patches. Choose colors just as carefully. A black, gray and brown jacket is fine. Definitely avoid flashy colorsin which everyone can see you from miles away.
It is also important to choose the right size. When trying on a jacket, bring the same number of layers to the store as you would normally wear. It’s pointless to take a bigger size just “to be safe”. You never wear more layers than a t-shirt and sweater anyway.
Boots or proper Kanadas?
Some, especially men from larger cities, might argue that buying winter boots when the snow only falls for a week and then melts immediately is pointless. Winter men’s shoes however, they not only serve to prevent falls on slippery glaciers, but also keep our feet warm. In addition, if we are already investing our money in an elegant coat or jacket, we should also choose appropriate footwear.
We should look for boots. Don’t worry, gentlemen, by boots we mean men’s ankle boots. Which can be both textile and leather. The appearance also resembles the well-known “canadas”. It’s about higher lace-up shoes with a proper sole. Inside, they are additionally insulated with fur. Your feet will not freeze even in the coldest weather. You can color match them with a coat or jacket.
Details that warm?
And when the worst comes to worst and the winter hits really hard, some accessories will also come in handy. First, reach for a proper scarf. Whether you choose a simple one in the color of your jacket or as a more expressive element, make sure that it is made of high-quality and warm materials. You can also choose gloves in the same style. Choose either leather or knitted. Better save those giant skis for a vacation in the mountains.
