Mircea Geoană, independent candidate for the position of president of Romania, allegedly visited the PSD deputy Ana Maria Cătăuță several times, at her home.

The photos accompanying these revelations appear to show Mircea Geoană dressed differently than usual, i.e. wearing a cap and sunglasses. Geoană would have driven his car to the underground parking lot of the block where the PSD deputy lives, in the Pipera neighborhood. Then Geoană, who was alone in the car, left the car in the parking lot and went up to the deputy’s apartment.

Between September 11 and October 28, 2024, Mircea Geoană would have been five times at PSD deputy Ana Maria Cătăuță’s house. Geoana would have stayed in the deputy’s home between one and two hours, claims the Societatea website. After such a visit, Geoana went to the headquarters where she carries out her campaign activities, and the deputy also arrived at that headquarters, a little later.

According to public information, the mirceageoana.ro website was administered for a time by Ana Maria Cătăuță herself, informs Adevărul. In parallel, Ana-Maria Cătăuță is a PSD deputy, since 2020.

“What duties does she have in your campaign?”, Adevărul asked Mircea Geoană.

“There are different rules in the campaign; I have been working with Ana for many years (…). With Mrs. Cătăuță in the extended team, we still consult, but we separate things; she is still a PSD deputy, she does a very good job as a Bacău deputy , and that’s why we respect the division of labor and the rules that work in Romanian democracy,” answered Mircea Geoană.
