Geoana’s commitment

It’s been two weeks since Mircea Geoană launched his political program in a less lavish place. It is called “My Commitment to Romania”. I got an invitation and I really would have gone. I was curious. Unfortunately, for more important reasons, I was at a distance and could not get to see what kind of world revolves around him (especially since lepers and thugs were also reported) and find out what kind of people were involved in writing this document.

Mircea Geoană was unlucky to have a rather hot national “agenda”. About the same days, the Nordis scandal broke out, then the DNA operation to counterbalance the Vicol-Ciorbă tandem’s business, i.e. the file with Nelu Tătaru’s eggs and chickens, and, in the middle of this week, the conflict over the big pot, the contracts and the works for the floor of at Unirii Square in the Capital. For about ten days, “My commitment to Romania” launched by Mircea Geoană remained in the shadows, as if it had not been put on the market. It was not picked up or commented on. Until appearing on an Antena 3 show with Răzvan Dumitrescu (the second exceptional performance of the blasphemer!) I never saw Geoană again except in clippings followed by cursing and televised diversions of the worst kind. Some even grotesque, Ciutacu style.

The truth is that Mircea Geoană is the subject of the most aggressive demolition campaign. This tells me that he is by far the most dangerous opponent for Marcel Ciolacu’s dreams of promotion. From the lectern behind him, Radu Budeanu & Co distribute money for the permanent assault. All techniques of crooked insertion and lateral spraying are used on Romania TV, Antena 3 and Realitatea Plus. From meetings with Sorin Ovidiu Vântu to espionage for Putin’s Russia, from a Security man to a friend of the mafia, these days Mircea Geoană is anything but a project promoter and a politician with chances, no. All so as not to escape in the second round. Everyone re-re-re-discovers his past, and some know him even better than he does, they re-inventory and exaggerate his mistakes (some super-known), but no one wants to know what a man who comes after an extremely interesting experience at the top of today’s world. And where not a single Romanian (politician or us) has touched his nose. Well, after he finished his mandate, the “do you know how he got to NATO?” campaign began.

Instead of finding solutions and ideas to get out of the current situation, a powerful interest group wants it reduced, minimized and out of the race at any cost.

I’m not interested in Elena Vasilica Lasconi’s gossip. His appearances are more than a bad joke with which the USR wants to stay in the political competition. And neither the birth qualities that Marcel Ciolacu claims to have and that he has proven in all his negotiations as a stonemason, as a brat who rubs shoulders with interlocutors and wins by speaking English with his foot and with arguments like “come on, Sir, fuck it, let’s do it….”. And which Marcel Ciolacu only appears on the small screen for flattering questions from all kinds of media piccolos, such as Ciutacu. The programs of the other candidates do not exist or have not been launched yet. It is not excluded that some have laid something and have the materials that have the same fate as that of Mircea Geoană. In this style, the whole campaign is reduced to gossip, comments on gossip, diversions, accounts of the past, true or invented, files taken out of drawers, empty promises or squeals of a greedy coucoana for television appearances.

Mircea Geoană’s commitment is worth reading and chewing regardless of the opinions about the author’s CV. It contains a package of proposals and ideas. They can be contested, especially if there is something else to put in place. But they cannot be treated with “I don’t care”, “they are stupid” or “we don’t need”.

I have tried to extract passages and ideas from this complex political program. Just its conception and drafting is a respectable effort while its application would require the participation of a population. I can’t figure out what will be chosen for him. Either way, the “Pledge…” is a challenging, perhaps extremely important, document. Regardless of which side you are on, opponents or partisans, the most correct thing would be to go through it. Then we can continue the discussion.

Those consistent with themselves and the rules of a public debate can find the document at the following address:

MY COMMITMENT
