The world of fantasy novels that inspired the series Game of Thrones and whose end we are still waiting for, has evolved over the years in the head of George RR Martin. If in the HBO adaptation the beautiful Sansa Stark ends up on her father’s throne as Queen of the North and it is a safe bet that it will be a similar ending in the future romantic ending, the plans of the American writer were basically completely different and the young woman must have had a much less glorious destiny.
The sad fate of the young and beautiful Sansa Stark
When the series Game of Thrones ended in May 2019, the destinies of our heroes and antagonists of the universe of Westeros were finally revealed to our eyes as spectators and let’s not lie to ourselves, most of them do well or even very well like Sansa Stark who ends up on the Northern throne, not without having previously had a hard time with the psychopath Ramsay Bolton it must be admitted. If the fates of the characters in the series produced by HBO have divided fans of the series, it is unknown to what extent the ending of the books will be different from that of the series. The fact remains that the writer’s plans for the destiny of his characters have also evolved greatly. Indeed, the plans that were planned at the base did not give the Northern Kingdom to Sansa Stark at all.
Following her marriage to Joffrey Baratheon, our beautiful Sansa would have had a son with the young king in this version of the story, which would have brought even more tensions and risks for the young woman. Then, after Joffrey’s death and Jaime’s ascension to the Iron Throne, the latter allegedly killed the son of his nephew and Sansa Stark – who was also a pretender to the throne. The death of her son would have devastated Sansa.
This particularly sordid fate for the young Stark would have shocked more than one fan, but would have even more supported the tragedy of George RR Martin’s work. An alternative version that we will never see but which would have changed many things for Westeros.
