George Simion, serious allegations against CCR

The President of AUR, George Simion, launched a series of criticisms of the Constitutional Court, accusing the institution of “turning into a pawn on the political stage” and of not fulfilling its role as a guarantor of respect for the Constitution. Simion’s statements come in the context of the CCR’s decision to request a recount of the votes from the first round of the presidential elections, a decision that generated controversy on the political scene.

“CCR, instead of having noticed the repeated abuses of the parties in power, PSD and PNL, over time, turns into a pawn on the political stage. (…) The CCR led by PSD – PNL – UDMR ordered the recount of votes in all polling stations, although those who contested only referred to a limited number of stations. (…) Where did all this desperation of the system come from that activated all the mechanisms to defeat the vote of the Romanians? Because the polls came and Elena Lasconi, this Kamala de Câmpulung, lost the second round to the sovereignist candidate, Călin Georgescu. And then they summoned the Constitutional Court to try to repeat the elections. (…) The attack we are seeing these days against Romanian democracy is shameful and revolting”, he stated, for Agerpres, George Simion.

CSAT: protects the interests of the sly boys from the buttons

In his opinion, the Superior Council of National Defense (CSAT) was not convened to protect the interests of the Romanian people, but those of the “tricky boys at the buttons”.

“Where was CSAT when our country was systematically robbed? Where was he when our industry was destroyed and our resources alienated? For 35 years, no CSAT was convened to protect the interests of the Romanian people, but only the interests of the sly boys at the buttons”, said George Simion.

The Constitutional Court postponed for Friday both a decision regarding the validation of the result of the 1st round of the presidential elections, as well as a decision regarding the request to cancel the election result in the 1st round, the CCR officially announced. Also, the CCR asked the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) to recount all the votes, based on the request of Cristian Terheș.
