German police are looking for a driver who mocked speed cameras

A traffic camera of the German police recorded a bizarre situation on the road in the vicinity of Dortmund a few days ago. Behind the wheel of the Audi RS2 station wagon was Cookie Monster, a blue character from the children’s television show Sesame Street, known for his gluttony and love of cookies.

According to the police report, the Audi driver exceeded the speed limit by 11 km/h and faces a fine of 40 euros. Jutarnji.hr.

The Audi is owned by a 57-year-old man from Hagen, but due to the mask the driver wore on his head, the police cannot identify who was driving the car at the time.

The fine will be delivered to the owner by mail at his home address.

Police spokesman Peter Bandermann said they are still looking for the driver: ‘Maybe it’s fun for some, but wearing a mask while driving is very serious. If the suspect admits to driving while wearing a mask, he will receive an additional fine of 60 euros, as wearing a mask while driving is prohibited in Germany. In the section where the limit is 80 km/h, he drove 91 km/h’.

This means that the suspect faces a total fine of 100 euros.

The Audi RS2 Avant, created in collaboration with Porsche, marked the beginning of the era of sporty family wagons from Audi. With a 315 hp engine, it reaches 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds.
