The state election commission announced a while ago that the Social Democratic Party (SPD) won the elections in Brandenburg, with a percentage of 30.9% (+4.7 from 2019), leaving the far-right faction in second place Alternative for Germany (AfD) with 29.2% (+5.7).
The newly formed “Alliance Zara Wagenknecht” (BSW) took third place with 13.5%, while the Christian Democratic Party (CDU) came fourth with 12.1% (-3.5).
These four parties secure their entry into the local parliament.
The Greens with 4.1% (-6.7) and the Left with 3% (-7.7) are left out of parliament, as are the Liberals (FDP), who are even counted among the “other parties”.
