Germany is closely following the political events in Montenegro and is strongly advocating for the preservation of our European path, announced the cabinet of President Jakov Milatović, who met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the sidelines of the European Political Community Summit in London.

“This meeting is a continuation of intensive cooperation and Montenegro is grateful to Germany for its continued support for our European path,” said Milatović.

He assessed that the Berlin process has an irreplaceable role in strengthening regional cooperation and connecting the countries of the Western Balkans with the European Union on the path of integration.

“The interlocutors agreed that Montenegro should not miss the current geopolitical moment that is in its favor in the context of European integration. The EU supports Montenegro’s membership in the EU, but it is understood that the Montenegrin leadership essentially works to accelerate integration, through the improvement of good-neighborly cooperation.” , the announcement states.
