Entering a new era in its relations with African countries, Türkiye will further strengthen diplomatic, commercial and economic relations. It will increase the foreign trade volume with the countries in the region.
According to the news of Türkiye Newspaper, in 2025, the Joint Economic Commission (KEK) will be held in the 3rd term with Tanzania, the 6th term with Nigeria, the 1st term with Mauritania, the 4th term with Congo, and the 2nd term with Chad. Meetings will be held. Additionally, the 5th Türkiye-Africa Economic and Business Forum will be held with representatives of the continent’s countries. In addition, high-level bilateral and mutual visits with African countries will continue.
Preferential Trade Agreement with Maldives
The Ministry of Commerce will also work to strengthen Turkey’s preferential trade network, negotiate new free trade agreements and expand the scope of existing free trade agreements. In this context, first of all, the entry into force process of the Preferential Trade Agreement between Türkiye and the Maldives will be completed.
FTA with the United Kingdom will be updated
On the other hand, Turkey-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Update Negotiations, Turkey-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) FTA Negotiations and Turkey-Japan FTA Negotiations will continue. Trade in goods and services and economic cooperation will continue to be increased with the countries determined within the scope of the Distant Countries Strategy. In this context, fair participation, trade delegations, bilateral agreements and promotional activities will be intensified.
