The beginning of 2025 is slowly approaching, and most Chinese manufacturers have already premiered their flagship phones for next year. But what trend will the new year actually bring when it comes to improvements in phones?
Improvements that everyone will appreciate
The year 2025 will be in the spirit of improved battery life and more economical processors. Most major manufacturers will deploy much larger batteries, and in combination with more efficient processors, the battery life will be at least 25% better than this year.
Some Chinese manufacturers are not afraid to integrate batteries with a capacity of around 6000 mAh and higher into their phones. Only gaming phones, such as the ROG Phone 9, previously had such a size. The trend of large batteries will dominate all price categories of smartphones next year.
Higher performance and more secure fingerprint readers
Every year the increase in phone performance is quite noticeable, but this year it will be even more drastic, as mobile chip manufacturers have caught up with the performance of Apple Bionic, which had the highest performance for many years. Flagship chipsets will have at least 30% more performance in all respects. Processors in lower classes will also offer improvements, but there the difference will not be so drastic.
Another positive trend is the slow expansion of ultrasonic fingerprint readers, which are faster, more reliable and, above all, safer. Until now, manufacturers have deployed optical readers, but next year there will be a massive deployment of these more reliable ones, as the website informs Android Authority.
Water resistance will be standard
Until now, only the most expensive flagship phones could boast of dust resistance and water resistance. In 2025, even phones in the upper and lower middle class will offer increased resistance.
Next year the phones will be noticeably better, but it can’t all be positive. For example, many manufacturers are going to move away from the trend of one-inch photo sensors, and smaller sensors will be used in secondary cameras as well. Unfortunately, the prices of some flagship phones will be around 20% higher, mainly due to larger batteries and more powerful processors.
