DAPURPACUID – The GIIAS Bandung 2024 automotive exhibition series, organized by the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO), officially ended on Sunday, September 29 2024, with very positive achievements.
The event which was opened on Wednesday, September 25 2024 by Plt. Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics Industry (ILMATE) Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Putu Juli Ardika and Director General of Land Transportation, Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Risyapudin Nursin, Acting. Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, and West Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Dr. Akhmad Wiyagus, accompanied by the General Chair of GAIKINDO, Yohannes Nangoi and the Chair of the GAIKINDO Exhibition Organizer, Rizwan Alamsyah, is proof that the implementation of GIIAS Bandung 2024 has full support from both the central and regional governments.
Taking place for the second time this year, GIIAS Bandung succeeded in attracting the attention of the public in West Java, from automotive enthusiasts, professionals, to the general public who came to witness the latest vehicle and technology innovations, as well as participate in various interesting activities and programs.
The General Chairperson of GAIKINDO, Yohannes Nangoi, stated that through holding GIIAS Bandung GAIKINDO can disseminate information regarding the development of the automotive industry in Indonesia, especially in West Java, provide education to the public, and encourage the growth of the national automotive industry. “GIIAS Bandung is GAIKINDO’s commitment to presenting automotive exhibitions in various regions of Indonesia. “Seeing what the participants presented throughout the exhibition, bringing vehicle models with the latest technology, is our step to encourage a more sustainable development of the national automotive industry,” he said.
According to Nangoi, in the future GAIKINDO will continue to expand the reach of this exhibition so that it can provide greater benefits to the Indonesian people and automotive industry, “It is GAIKINDO’s next task to continue to develop GIIAS Bandung, accommodate the requests of GAIKINDO member brands, to expand information, education, as well as new experiences for visitors. “For this reason, we hope that Bandung will soon have a larger venue, so that it can accommodate more brands and support the growth of the automotive industry,” added Nangoi.
Attracting Tens of Thousands of Visitors
During the five days of implementation, GIIAS Bandung 2024 recorded the presence of tens of thousands of visitors, even though it was marked by rain, visitors remained enthusiastic in filling the exhibition area throughout its implementation. Rizwan Alamsjah, Chair III and Chair of the GAIKINDO Exhibition Organizer, said that the enthusiasm of the people of West Java, especially Bandung, looked very positive. “We really appreciate the enthusiasm of the people of Bandung, the number of visitors who tried the new vehicle models directly was also very positive, more than 1,000 test drive trips and more than 500 test ride trips were recorded throughout the exhibition, this proves the huge potential of the automotive industry in the region ,” said Rizwan.
This year, GIIAS Bandung presented the highest number of motor vehicle brands with a total of 19 motor vehicle brands consisting of 13 passenger vehicle brands, namely BYD, Chery, Citroen, Daihatsu, GAC Aion, Honda, KIA, Mazda, MG, Mitsubishi Motors, Suzuki, Toyota , and Wuling. As well as from commercial vehicles, namely the Toyota Commercial. Meanwhile, from two-wheeled vehicles, 5 brands will also be present at GIIAS Bandung 2024, namely Alva, Benelli, Keeway, Royal Enfield and Scomadi. Not only motor vehicle brands, various automotive supporting industry brands are also enlivening the implementation of GIIAS Bandung 2024.
As a form of appreciation to the participants who have participated in GIIAS Bandung 2024, the organizing committee gave awards in three main categories, namely Favorite Booth Categories, Favorite Car Categories, and Favorite Motorcycle Categories. This award is given to participants who successfully attract the attention of visitors and showcase their best products.
The following is a list of winners from each category at GIIAS Bandung 2024:
Favorite Booth Categories:
The Passenger Car >150 sqm category was won by TOYOTA.
The Supporting Industry category was won by GPS.ID.
Favorite Car Categories:
The Passenger Car SUV category was won by the MAZDA CX-60.
The Passenger Car MPV category was won by TOYOTA INNOVA ZENIX HYBRID.
The Passenger Car Crossover category was won by KIA SONET ULTIMATE.
The Favorite BEV category was won by HONDA HR-V e
The Most Driven Car category was won by BYD Seal Performance AWD.
Favorite Motorcycle Categories:
The Motorcycle Daily Use category was won by SCOMADI TURISMO PICCOLO.
The Motorcycle Big Bike category was won by ROYAL ENFIELD SHOTGUN 650.
The Most Driven Motorcycle category was won by the ROYAL ENFIELD CLASSIC 350.
The success of holding GIIAS Bandung 2024 is also inseparable from the full support of Superchallenge as a sponsor who has presented an attractive program which is of course a very interesting added value for visitors to GIIAS Bandung.
GIIAS The Series 2024 will continue to the city of Semarang
The GIIAS The Series 2024 exhibition series still has one final city to be held in. The city that will be the next destination in the series is Semarang. GIIAS Semarang will take place on 23–27 October 2024 at a different location from the previous event, namely Muladi Dome Undip, Semarang. GIIAS Semarang 2024 will be held for the third time, this will be the closing of this year’s GIIAS The Series.
