Despite economic challenges and geopolitical conflicts, the global developer community is experiencing robust growth. A new study shows that AI usage among developers in particular is increasing rapidly.
According to Evans Data Corp’s latest Worldwide Developer Population Report, the global developer population is expected to reach 27 million in 2023. The report, published twice a year, shows a recovery in the growth rate following the COVID-19 pandemic, but also points to new challenges.
Despite inflation, economic uncertainty and geopolitical conflicts in regions such as the Middle East and Europe, the developer community is experiencing steady growth, particularly in the emerging markets of Asia-Pacific and Latin America.
A particularly positive trend can be seen in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. The number of developers who already use AI or have developed applications with AI functions has increased from 15.5 million last year to over 17.4 million. North America is leading the way in AI adoption.
The report provides detailed insights into global developer demographics, including regional differences and five-year forecasts, making it an essential resource for understanding software development trends.
