Glorious GMMK 2 Review 96%: Modular Keyboard Delights With Versatility And Low Latency – Chapter 1

Compact keyboards are gaining in popularity, but why compromise? As many keys as possible in as little space as possible – that’s what 96% of models strive for. Glorious GMMK 2 96% is not only characterized by smaller dimensions, but also comfortable typing, responsive gaming, maximum modularity and the possibility to customize everything.

The GMMK 2 96% Gaming Keyboard from Glorious balances several key aspects very well. The first is the size, it provides the maximum number of necessary keys without taking up too much space on the desk. Another is the response, which is very pleasant, but it is not at the expense of increased noise. But what if you stop liking something on the keyboard or you like other switches? Thanks to good compatibility, almost everything can be replaced.

We could almost call the keyboard universal, it lacks only dedicated buttons for macros or multimedia keys to perfection in this respect. The emphasis here is on saving space, however, you can make a macro button out of any key thanks to the software. And those who need more buttons probably won’t buy a smaller keyboard.

For everyone else, this is an interesting adept to buy. The keyboard is great for gaming and very well for regular typing, even though some keys have smaller dimensions and less surrounding space compared to a 100% keyboard. There are also no Czech key labels, but that is almost standard for gaming keyboards.

Packaging

In addition to the separate keyboard, you will also find small accessories in the package. This is an almost standard accessory in the form of pliers for pulling out keys. Only Esc is among the replacement keys, as the keyboard will come with the Glorious logo instead of the standard label. You will also find a tool for pulling out the switches themselves and a USB cable.

Supplied keyboard accessories

The keyboard is not wireless, so a cable is a must, the ability to disconnect it is very pleasing. The two-meter cable itself looks very sturdy, it is thick enough and braided, so it should be able to handle even worse handling. However, the philosophy of this keyboard is that everything should be replaced, and the same is logically true for the cable, although in terms of quality I see no reason to automatically replace it with another one.

Keyboard chassis construction

The package lacks a wrist pad, but the manufacturer offers the option to purchase it in several versions and sizes. Of course, you can have your very own pad chosen to suit your needs and with the option of placing it at any distance from the keyboard, which is not possible with pads that can be attached to the keyboard.
