This year, too, the series of golden carpets started with the presentation of the previous year’s Golden Globes, which took place on January 6 in Beverly Hills. And although the main focus of the evening belonged to the acting performances, the way the stars dressed did not stand aside either. Many celebrities decided to start this year in style and shine, some of their choices were truly memorable.
British actress Cynthia Erivo boasted one of the most striking models of the eveningnominated for her performance in last year’s blockbuster Wicked. She chose a hand-embroidered black lace gown embellished with silver sequins in a statement cut that immediately turned heads. She completed her look with lace up boots. Although she earned criticism for the courage of her choice, it cannot be denied that she impressed and confirmed her reputation as a fashion icon.
Instead, Golden Globe winner for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Role, Tadanobu Asano, opted for a classic that never disappoints. He showed up in a black single-breasted tuxedo with a peaked lapel, a white shirt, a black bow tie and patent leather ankle boots. His outfit, perhaps boring or too ordinary for some, represented the ageless essence of gentlemanliness in our opinion.
Timothée Chalamet, a rising young star of Hollywood, took a bolder approach to conventional men’s fashion. He wore one of the first models from the Tom Ford brand created under the leadership of new creative director Haider Ackermann. He further enhanced his outfit with carefully selected accessories from Cartier. He wore a bracelet on the red carpet Reflection of Cartierin 18-carat white gold with diamonds and a ring Cartier Collection from 2005, also in white gold, decorated with onyx and diamonds.
During the evening, a number of stars took turns on the red carpet. As always, this year’s Globes included everything from perfect and well-thought-out outfits to elegance and a few more controversial pieces.
However, if we had to choose one of the most successful, it would probably be the look of the American actress Zendaya. She didn’t win any Globes, but if there was a prize for the best dress dinner, she would probably take it away. She wore a saffron yellow double silk satin sheath corset gown with a pleated train and matching satin pumps, all by Louis Vuitton. She completed the look with elegant jewelry and a matching necklace.
