The Slavists should return to the Ondrej Nepela Stadium.
Two partial repayments of the debt by the club and an agreement to pay the remaining part significantly contributed to the successful conclusion of the agreement. HC Slovan Bratislava informed about it on its website.
From Monday, August 12, the training sessions of the A-team, as well as the children’s and youth teams, begin at the Ondrej Nepela Winter Stadium. There is training area B and training area A.
Slovan will play the next friendly match on Tuesday, August 13 against HC Olomouc in Skalica.
From mid-August, ice will be available on the main field as well, which will allow the A-team of HC Slovan to play the third preparatory match on Thursday, August 22, against the participant of the highest Czech competition, MOUNTFIELD HK Hradec Králové, already at the home stadium.
According to STaRZ, Slovan has not fulfilled its contractual obligations towards this city organization since December 2023, i.e. since the death of owner Rudolf Hrubé.
During that time, Slovan’s debts for renting the Ondrej Nepela Winter Stadium climbed to more than 500,000 euros, and that was the reason why the Slavans could not use the main and training areas of their winter stadium in preparation until now.
“These days, the main area is preparing for the new season, while the first major event on it will be the important Olympic qualification for the final tournament at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo (29 August – 1 September 2024) with the participation of the Slovak national team , Austria, Hungary and Kazakhstan,” the website of hockey Slavon reported.
HC Slovan Bratislava was represented at the negotiations by a member of the board of directors, Mária Henselová, who expressed her gratitude on behalf of all the players, employees and fans of the club to the representatives of the capital’s municipality, especially to the mayor Matúš Vall, for his prompt and accommodating attitude towards the negotiations and reaching a common agreement , it is written on the Slovan website.
