Goodyear launches TPMS Connect, which works seamlessly with TPMS hardware installed as original equipment

Goodyear announces the launch of Goodyear TPMS Connect, an innovative solution that addresses the challenges faced by fleets with pre-installed tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS).

The new offering enables fleets that have OEM TPMS on their new vehicles to take advantage of Goodyear’s solutions and apps to improve overall fleet efficiency without the need for additional hardware installation.

Help for fleets to comply with EU regulations on tire pressure monitoring

The launch of Goodyear TPMS Connect comes at the right time as it complies with EU regulations on tire pressure monitoring, which require all new motor vehicles, including trucks, trailers, buses and vans, to be equipped with TPMS, which can accurately measure and transmit information about tire pressure to the driver.

Many fleets are equipped with standard original equipment (OEM) TPMS, which typically only display the warnings to drivers. This can limit the ability of the fleet administration to respond promptly to tire problems and thus increase the risk of costly downtime and maintenance. Goodyear TPMS Connect addresses these shortcomings with a user-friendly plug and play solution that can be integrated directly into current TPMS hardware. Goodyear’s solution can take the existing TPMS hardware and enhance it through access to extensive data and intelligent functions for fleet management.

The main advantages of Goodyear TPMS Connect:

  • Hassle-free integration: Easily connects to existing telematics TPMS hardware, eliminating the need for additional hardware or SIM cards.
  • Fast commissioning: Commissioning in the vehicle via the Internet (OTA) takes place without wasting time for installation. It connects to the Goodyear Cloud within 24 hours.
  • Improved data access: Fleet operators receive alerts that allow for preventive and data-based interventions.
  • Comprehensive visibility: Enables GPS tracking and geofencing, supporting efficient and targeted location-based service.
  • Intelligent Analysis: Advanced algorithms are used to analyze TPMS data and send actionable information for proactive monitoring and maintenance.

Goodyear engineers have specifically designed a series of algorithms, called G-Predict technology, that can identify potential tire problems before they escalate, helping to keep the vehicle running and minimizing downtime.

“We are delighted to introduce Goodyear TPMS Connect, a solution that gives fleet operators better insight and greater control over their tire management,” says Piotr Czyżyk, Managing Director, Fleet Mobility EMEA at Goodyear. “This efficient technology helps to improve the efficiency and safety of the fleets, and it is also an expression of our commitment to a future of intelligent mobility. We look forward to making it available to more fleets and helping them become even more efficient.”

Currently, Goodyear TPMS Connect is available for a select number of new OEM trailers. These early adopters will have the opportunity to experience the benefits of improved tire management and fleet efficiency. Goodyear recognizes the diverse needs of fleet operators and is working purposefully to make the innovative solution available to more vehicles in the near future. This will ensure that more fleets can utilize the advanced functions to improve their performance and efficiency.

Goodyear will present TPMS Connect at the upcoming IAA Transportation-messewhere visitors can get a first-hand impression of how the solution can transform their fleet’s administration. Company experts will be on hand to demonstrate the seamless integration process and discuss the benefits of proactive tire maintenance.
