Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 3 named test winner by ADAC

The victory in the latest extensive ADAC winter tire test is recognition of the Goodyear tire as the best balanced premium tire for the latest cars on the market.

The Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 3 has been named the winner of ADAC’s latest winter tire test, receiving the best rating, “good”, among the 16 competing winter tires in the compact SUV segment.

ADAC, Europe’s largest interest association for car owners, in collaboration with its Austrian and Swiss counterparts, ÖAMTC and TCS, tested the tires for safety and handling in snow, wet and dry conditions, as well as their impact on the environment.

The test was carried out with a Volkswagen T-Roc equipped with the popular 215/55R17 UltraGrip Performance 3.

In the test report, the Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 3 stood out due to its “safe and precise driving characteristics” on both dry and wet roads and in winter driving, where it appeared with “a high expected mileage, good wear resistance, exceptional fuel efficiency and no notable weaknesses.” The tire’s outstanding performance across all test criteria resulted in the best overall score.

Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 3 has been developed with optimal properties for winter driving. The tire’s advantageous properties are due to class-leading technologies such as Snow Protect-technology and Wet Grip+-technology, which improves grip and control during winter driving.

Strong performance across multiple dimensions

In addition to success in the SUV segment, Goodyear also showed strong results in the compact car category, where UltraGrip Performance 3 was awarded second place in the dimension 205/55R16, which was tested on a Volkswagen Golf and was once again rated “good”.

The magazine’s testers praised the tire’s performance and emphasized its “balanced” design, which provides “good precision on dry roads” while delivering “safe and precise handling on wet roads and in winter conditions.” The tire also excelled with “a high expected mileage, good wear resistance, low fuel consumption and low weight.”

Ben Glesener, Senior Director Technology Consumer Tires, Goodyear EMEA, says of the success: “We are incredibly proud that the Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 3 has won the test and been rated ‘good’ by ADAC. This recognition of our team’s hard work and the tire’s excellent winter performance is a testament to our expertise in developing a box-office-leading product.”
