Google Gemini 2.0 already in use?

Is Google about to release the next version of its Gemini AI system? Find out in the article what is already known about the launch of Gemini 2.0.

Gemini, Google’s powerful AI system, which competes with GPT-4 and Co., has been on the market since December 2023 – users in Germany can now also use Gemini via app and with a live option. The system impresses with numerous features that are also known from ChatGPT in a similar form. For example, the Gemini Gems, which are personalized versions of the AI tool, are similar to the Custom GPTs. In February 2024, Gemini introduced the 1.5 version of the advanced language model, which has immense context length. And now Google could be on the verge of taking the next big step: As TestingCatalog News reports on Threads, the launch of the latest model seems to be already being planned; Gemini-2.0-Pro-Exp-0111 is available as an experimental option for some users.

The model, as the post says, is displayed in the Advanced section with the addition “Our experimental model” – so it is currently an experimental additional model that can be selected instead of 1.5 Flash and 1.5 Pro. It is unclear whether the model should be made available to the broader public in its current state or, alternatively, to an internal test group first. It will probably take some time before all users can use Gemini 2.0 – but perhaps not quite as long as originally assumed. The model could will be presented in December; At this point, a release of the Jarvis system developed by Google would also be conceivable.

Meanwhile, OpenAI is continuing to expand its own market position – among other things by redirecting one of the oldest domains on the Internet to ChatGPT. Additionally, the AI company recently introduced a new voice clipping feature for Advanced Voice Mode.
