At the end of August, Google enriched its generative tool Gemini with an absolutely perfect gadget, which the competition in the form of OpenAI’s ChatGPT has been offering for a relatively long time. We are talking about Gem bots, which are designed for conversations on specific topics. The Californian software giant has now confirmed that they are users quickly fell in loveand in addition it is enriches with additional abilities.
While users of the free version of Gemini, Google has made available four Gem bots, among which we can find, for example, a programming expert or a career guide, Gemini Advanced subscribers can create their own chatbot. Thanks to this, they can adapt the artificial intelligence to their specific needs and thus save a relatively large amount of time.
A feature that users really missed
“Since launching in August, Gems—customized versions of Gemini that help you solve repetitive tasks or gain deep expertise in new areas—have been one of the most used features of Gemini Advanced,” stated Google v blog post. Adds that you users they designed chatbots for translation, copywriting, creating prompts or teaching mathematics.
Personally, I’m not at all surprised that Gem bots quickly became the center of attention. When working with ChatGPT, I use user-created GPT models almost every day, whether it is a fact-checking tool from the Czech expert Petr Ludwig or my own tool for creating tables with smartphone specifications.
Gem bots are now even better
Google has not only boasted about the popularity of its recently launched feature, but is also adding another useful capability to it. When creating a Gem bot, you can now refer to documentsand not only the local ones, but also those stored in the Google Drive service. In their case, your Gem will be always work with its most current version.
Up to 10 documents can be presented to the Gem robot during training. Between supported formats ranks:
- Text documents: Google Docs, TXT, DOC, DOCX, PDF, RTF, DOT, DOTX, HWP, HWPX
- Data files: Google Sheets, XLS, XLSX, CSV, TSV
“Examples we’re seeing in early testing include a Company Guidelines Gem that links to a company’s brand guide, or an Interview Preparation Gem that works with a user’s resume and job description,” supplied by Google.
Google introduced, among other things other pre-made Gem bots for corporate use (available to Gemini for Workspace subscribers). These include, for example, AI helping with marketing or a recruitment consultant.
