Google intends to buy an Israeli startup for $23 billion

Founded in Israel and now based in New York, Wiz provides cloud-based cybersecurity solutions with real-time threat detection and, of course, artificial intelligence.

Last year, Wiz had sales of around $350 million. In a recent investment round, the company was valued at $12 billion. It has 900 employees.

The founders of Wiz met in the army, specifically in unit 8200, which handles cyber security within the IDF. After leaving the army, they founded a company together (as is common in Israel).

Wiz collaborates and delivers solutions for a number of large companies (it boasts a share of 40% of Fortune 100 companies) such as Amazon or Microsoft.

The acquisition would significantly strengthen Google in the area of cyber security, especially for its cloud business. He has not yet commented on the deal. Two years ago, Google bought cybersecurity firm Mandiant for $5.4 billion.
