One of the best features of the Android operating system is its customization. A few years ago, the Pixel Launcher had a feature that allowed you to customize the fontthe design, color and shape of the home screen icons. Google has been getting rid of some of these options for a while now, simplifying everything. Fortunately however, now Google is trying to bring back at least the customization of the shape of the icons in the next quarterly release of Android 15.
Google launched Android 15 QPR2 Beta 1 today, and it’s chock-full of new features. Android 15 QPR2 Beta 1 not only offers the long-awaited mode to replace “Do Not Disturb”, but also confirms that an app Native Linux Terminal is under development.
Among the many new additions, leaker Nail Sadykov has discovered that the in-development version of the Pixel wallpaper app (AKA Wallpaper & Style) now contains a new menu” forma e layout app ” in Android 15 QPR2 Beta 1.
This menu has two tabs: Shape e Layout . The Layout tab has the usual options for changing the grid layout of the home screen, while the tab Shape It has six different options for changing the shape of the icons of the home screen. Considering how small this change is, Google probably won’t wait for other versions of Android to integrate it and make many users happy again.
