Google is developing a new artificial intelligence technology that takes over a web search engine to perform tasks such as research or shopping, The Information reported on Saturday, cited by Reuters.
Google is preparing to unveil its product codenamed “Project Jarvis” as early as December with the release of its new advanced language model, Gemini, according to the report, which cites people directly familiar with the product.
Microsoft-backed OpenAI also wants its models to be able to perform research by autonomously navigating the Internet, via a “CUA” (a computer-using agent) capable of taking action based on its findings, according to a July Reuters report.
Anthropic and Google aim to take this agent concept even further by developing software that can interact directly with the user’s computer or browser, the report said.
