Google Maps in CarPlay is catching up big time. Better late than never.
Google has proven many times that it can test users’ patience. Some options appear earlier on some systems and in various corners of the world, and later on others. Many of us have already become accustomed to this, but it does not change the fact that when subsequent systems catch up, there are many reasons to be happy. And that is how things are now with Google Maps and CarPlay, where the long-awaited function has finally appeared!
Traffic disruption reporting finally available in CarPlay
One of the options that many drivers use when using navigation is the ability to quickly report events that we witness while driving. This is something we know very well from our smartphones – and in Google Maps it has been available for years regardless of the system. It was in vain to look for it after connecting the phone to the CarPlay system – but this is finally changing.
Until now, Google Maps users on iPhones could observe warnings from other drivers after connecting to the car system. However, they could not submit any reports on what was happening on the road. However, 9to5Google informs that we will finally see changes in the topic. And the first users can already enjoy them in their cars with the CarPlay system.
At the moment, however, it is not known how long it will take to implement the feature for everyone. There is nothing left to do but to arm yourself with patience. But it is clear that Google has recently been paying more and more attention to improving Maps within the Apple ecosystem. Finally, we also have… a speedometer! And this is also one of the features that has been missing on iOS for many years.
