Google restricts the creation of new accounts in Russia

Google has been creating new accounts for Russian users limitedstate news agencies report. Google has been under pressure in Russia for several years because it refuses to remove content that Moscow considers illegal.

The US company stopped serving ads to users in Russia in March 2022 and paused monetization of content whitewashing Russia’s war in Ukraine. In August, all AdSense revenue stopped.

It is not clear whether Google will withdraw completely. The Russian Ministry of Digital Affairs recommends that users back up data.
