Google TV offers over 1,100 channels for free. But there is a catch

Google TV is now more interesting than ever. When the service launched in early 2023, it offered just a few dozen channels. In less than 2 years, Google managed to number its own channels double and hundreds more are supplied to the platform by its partners Pluto TV, Plex, HayStack News a Pipes.

Currently, Google TV owners have incredible options available to them 1,134 channels. A to for free (unfortunately thanks to advertising, which cannot be removed). To access them, just open the tab with the name Live and start wading through a plethora of topics, genres or types of shows.

How to get free channels?

Not all available channels are part of the basic Google Freeplay service. There you will find only 159 of them. But you can get access to all the others. Just download it to your TV application given services. The step-by-step guide is right there on the Live tab, so it’s best to follow the instructions on the TV screen. And then the user gets access to channels supplied by Pluto, Plex or HayStack.

But the fact is that Google focuses primarily on the US in this regard and still operates Android TV and Google TV at the same time. He then created new software from the latter, which he continues to develop and improve. Unfortunately, not everything that is on Google TV makes it to Android TV.

The easiest way is to buy a new TV directly with integrated Google TV. If you don’t want to make such an investment and are happy with your TV, you can just buy a Chromecast with Google TV.
