Google Wallet allows you to store any ID

Some time ago we informed you that Google Wallet will enable the integration of passports. Thanks to this, you will not have to frantically rummage through your luggage to find those important documents at the airport, and simply show your smartphone at the counter. According to the portal AndroidCentral however, it will soon be able to automatically identify and integrate other document types as well.

Offer “Add to wallet” in the application Google Wallet will have a new option called “Everything elseeh”. Thanks to it, users can take a photo of virtually any document, and Google Wallet will automatically scan it and save its digital version in the application.

The application will even allow you to edit and review the information from the document in case it was captured incorrectly. Users can thus change their ID number, expiry date, name or address. However, they must agree to the declaration before scanning the document.

The text of the statement reads: “Scan a photo of your ID and Google uses AI to create a digital version of it in Google Wallet. Google will use your pass photo to determine what kind of pass you’re adding and suggest pass content.”

The function also thinks about privacy

After approval, the smartphone captures the document and divides it into two parts: normal a private. Private IDs are locked and require access verification user. If the AI ​​does not identify the document, the user can manually select it and fill in the relevant information by clicking on the “add field” item. You can only add them 5 more fields. In this way, you will be able to store, for example, residence permits, student cards and even car insurance.
