Earlier, the anti-discrimination student movement said that the quota reform movement was still open.
Hasnat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of the movement, published a press release on Facebook on behalf of the central coordination team of the anti-discrimination student movement on Wednesday (July 17). In this, Kotar called for a peaceful ‘Complete Shutdown’ program across the country to protest logical reforms and attacks on students.
It is said in the notification, along with our movement, the way of discussion will also be open.
The Law Minister said that the Prime Minister congratulated them on this proposal. They assigned me and the Minister of Education to discuss this proposal. We will sit with them.
He said, the second prime minister has asked me to announce that steps should be taken to bring forward the hearing (on quota reform) that was scheduled for August 7. I have directed the Attorney General to apply to the Appellate Division on Sunday to bring forward the hearing date.
Thirdly, you know that the Prime Minister in his speech announced the formation of a judicial inquiry committee. In that context, we have proposed to make Khandkar Diliruzzaman, a learned judge of the High Court Division, the head of this committee. The proposal will go to the Chief Justice.
