Grand Prix of Thailand 2024 – announcement and schedule

After Australia, it’s time for a new stage in the premier class Asian tour. It is a race for the Grand Prix of Thailand.

In 2018, Thailand became the latest Asian country to find its place on the MotoGP calendar. The new race was hosted by the Buriram track, which was opened in 2014, and where the WSBK was raced since 2015.

The track is located 410 kilometers northeast of Bangkokthe Thai capital. Her name Buriram means “city of happiness”. It is 4,554 km long, has a total of 12 curves, and the longest direction is exactly 1 km. The track itself has excellent auxiliary facilities, with a grandstand capacity of 100,000 spectators.

This will be the fifth premier class race run for the Asian country’s grand prix. The 2018 debut went to Marco Marquez, who left behind Andrea Dovizioso and Maverick Viñales. A year later, Mark was the fastest again. Then he was better than Fabio Quartararo, and Maverick Viñales was on the podium again.

After a break in 2020 and 2021, due to the corona virus pandemic, Thailand returned to the calendar in 2022. Miguel Oliveira triumphed, and Jack Miller and Francesco Banjaya were on the podium.

Last year, Jorge Martin dominatedwho took pole position, with victories in the sprint and the main race. As for the race, he was followed by Francesco Banjaya and Brad Binder. We believe that the Spaniard would not object to history repeating itself, especially since it would increase the points advantage over the current champion.
