(Guri = Newsis) Reporter Hojin Lee = Guri City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 27th that it has begun a research project to objectively analyze the effects of incorporation into Seoul.
This research project, undertaken by Value Management Institute Co., Ltd., was carried out to prepare objective effect analysis data related to Guri City’s promotion of incorporation into Seoul.
The service tasks include a comprehensive survey of the status of changes in jurisdiction, analysis of the necessity, justification, feasibility, and pros and cons of incorporation, and included a comprehensive evaluation as well as the establishment of an administrative district reorganization plan and detailed implementation plan.
The responsible researcher for the service was Professor Lim Seong-eun, former director of the 2nd Seoul Institute of Technology, and the service period is approximately 6 months until May of next year.
Prior to the completion of the service in May next year, the city plans to hold a regional briefing session and opinion collection process for citizens and reflect these in the service results.
Guri Mayor Baek Kyeong-hyeon said, “Through this service, we will closely analyze the effects of Seoul’s incorporation, and based on the results, we will accelerate the promotion of administrative procedures such as the proposal of a special law.” He added, “We will do our best to ensure that Seoul’s incorporation is successfully promoted.”
