Evaluation of 3 groups considering city and county population size, selection of 9 excellent institutions
Excellent construction administration cases are expected to be shared with cities and counties to spread and improve excellent policies.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 26th that as a result of conducting an evaluation on the soundness of city and county construction administration in 2024, it selected nine cities and counties with excellent construction administration.

The ‘Building Administration Consolidation Evaluation’ is a system that annually evaluates the overall construction administration of 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi-do, including Gyeonggi-do’s key policies, city-county self-plans, and construction administration processing status, in accordance with the Building Act.
The province combined the evaluation results on quantitative and qualitative evaluation indicators and separated them into three groups by population size. As a result, the grand prizes were Anyang-si, Hanam-si, and Anseong-si, the top prizes were Yongin-si, Paju-si, and Dongducheon-si, and the excellence prizes were Bucheon-si, Gwangju-si, and Yeoju-si. were selected respectively.
Based on the evaluation results, the nine local governments selected as excellent institutions will be awarded institutional commendations and civil servant awards, and local architects will be awarded commendations from the Gyeonggi Province Governor.
Anyang City, which was selected as the target in Group Ⅰ, received excellent evaluations in ▲promoting green remodeling of public buildings ▲enacting ordinances to support Hanok construction ▲establishing and implementing performance plans for provincial priority projects ▲regular inspection of public notices ▲other provincial government participation, etc.
Hanam City, which was selected as the target in Group Ⅱ, received excellent evaluations in ▲participation in the Gyeonggi Architectural Culture Award and Architectural Culture Festival, which is scheduled to host the 2025 Gyeonggi Cultural Festival ▲performance of talent donation by architects ▲qualitative evaluation of excellent policies ▲promotion of the city’s own meetings and workshops.
Anseong City, which was selected as the target in Group Ⅲ, received excellent evaluations in ▲ enactment of Hanok construction support ordinance and establishment of Hanok support budget ▲ promotion of green remodeling of public buildings ▲ establishment and performance of implementation plan for provincial priority projects ▲ introduction of examples of selection of excellent policies in 2023, etc. .
In addition, ▲ Hanam City ‘Installation Standards for Air Conditioning and Heating Outdoor Units’ ▲ Suwon City ‘Public Open Space Design Guidelines’ ▲ Goyang City ‘Bulletin of Cadastral Study’ ▲ Bucheon City ‘Construction Site Safety Education Using VR (Virtual Reality)’ ▲ Gwangmyeong City ‘Building Energy Information Platform’ ‘ ▲Seongnam City’s ‘Operation of review committee using tablet PC’ is part of architectural administration. Selected as an excellent policy.
Through this evaluation, Gyeonggi-do plans to strengthen the integrity of the province’s architectural administration and share best practices between regions to provide architectural services that residents can experience.
Lee Gye-sam, head of the Gyeonggi Province Urban Housing Department, said, “This evaluation was conducted to increase the professionalism and efficiency of construction administration,” and added, “We will continue to strive to create an architectural environment that residents can trust and contribute to regional development.”
