Halo Infinite: a new third-person view is coming

343 Industries announced that Halo Infinite (which you can find on Amazon at a discounted price) will introduce a third-person mode in November. The news was revealed during a panel at the 2024 Halo World Championship and confirmed with a short video on Twitter.

This new feature represents a significant change in perspective for the historic first-person shooter series. Initially, the third-person mode will be available for Firefight modebut it could also be extended to PvP and Forge in the future.

John “Unyshek” Junyszek, senior community manager, e Colin Cove, ingegnere software senior di Skybox Labs, hanno provided additional details during the event. Cove explained: “We also have the ability to introduce her into PvP and control her in the Forge.”

The third person will be supported and potentially introduced in more and more ways.

The developers have clarified that i Forge controls will allow you to switch between first and third person perspectives for individual players or for all participants. It is not yet clear whether this option will also be available in campaign mode.

Although this is the first time that third person has been officially implemented, several mods had already added this functionality in the past, enjoying considerable success among fans. Some players speculate that this novelty could be a preliminary test for a future battle royale mode in the Halo series.

The introduction of the third-person view could renew the gaming experience of Halo Infinite, offering players a new perspective on the famous sci-fi universe created by Bungie, but at the same time it has also received several criticisms from purists of the series, who believe that this innovation distorts the very essence of the brand.
