Foreign. Hamas announces that its leader in Lebanon, Fateh Sherif Abu el-Amin, has been killed in an Israeli airstrike. It reports BBC News.
According to Hamas, several of his family members were also killed in the attack, which is said to have taken place on his home in the Al-Bass camp near the city of Tire in southern Lebanon.
The state-run Lebanese news agency, the National News Agency, also reported an airstrike on the same refugee camp.
Hamas, which is mainly based in Gaza, also has a presence in Lebanon. Both Hamas and Hezbollah receive support and funding from Iran.
