Hancom Academy, a subsidiary of Hancom Academy, announced on the 8th that it will begin Korean language education by establishing ‘Smart Class’ in 41 schools in Uzbekistan.

In this project, which targets about 1,600 students in Uzbekistan, native Korean language teachers teach Korean using an online platform operated by Hancom Academy. This training is the second largest after the King Sejong Institute Foundation’s overseas Korean language and culture dissemination project.

Smart Class is a learning environment that provides various educational programs through digital infrastructure. By combining IT technology and educational content, students can experience not only Korean language but also Korean culture and IT education. As it is conducted online, it is attracting attention in that it can greatly improve local people’s access to education beyond the constraints of time and space. In particular, native speaking teachers are expected to increase learning motivation and sense of accomplishment by teaching vivid Korean pronunciation and expressions in real time.

Lee Kwang-heon, CEO of Hancom Academy, said, “This project serves as a bridge to promote cultural and linguistic exchange between Uzbekistan and Korea, and beyond simple education, we aim to provide an important foundation for future generations of students to grow into global talents.” said.

He added, “In the future, we plan to increase the construction of smart classes throughout Uzbekistan, while also actively expanding our business to other Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.”
