After the silver medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, the German national handball team wants to stay on the road to success at the 2025 World Cup in Denmark, Norway and Croatia. A few days before the start of the tournament, the two preparatory games against World Cup participants Brazil offer the last testing opportunities under competitive conditions. The live broadcasts are carried out by ZDF.
The first meeting in Flensburg can be followed on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. in the live stream on sportstudio.de and in the ZDF media library. The second international match between Germany and Brazil, which will take place in Hamburg, will be broadcast by “sportstudio live” on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 4:10 p.m. on ZDF and in the media library. The first big Handball World Cup evening on ZDF will be on the program on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 8:15 p.m.
ZDF alternates with ARD in broadcasting the World Cup games with German participation – on TV and in the live stream. During the tournament there will also be summaries of other World Cup games every day on sportstudio.de and in the ZDF media library. Live World Cup coverage on ZDF begins with the DHB team’s second World Cup preliminary round game on Friday, January 17th in Herning, Denmark against Switzerland. Following the live game, further games from the second preliminary round matchday can be seen in the summary until 10.30 p.m.

Should the DHB team qualify for the World Cup main round, two games can be seen live on ZDF and one on ARD. A possible quarter-final with German participation would be shown on ARD, and a possible semi-final on Friday, January 31, 2025 would be broadcast by ZDF.
