(Health Korea News / Lee Chang-yong) Hanmi’s legal team, which specializes in legal response and advisory work for Hanmi Pharmaceutical, has been recognized for its expertise by being selected as one of the ‘Top 15 Best In-House Legal Teams in Asia’ by global legal media outlet ALB for two consecutive years.
ALB (Asian Legal Business), an affiliate of media group Thomson Reuters, is a highly authoritative media outlet in the legal field in the Asia Pacific and Middle East region. Every year, it evaluates the legal expertise, work efficiency, innovation, creativity, influence, business strategy support, market awareness, and reputation of corporate legal organizations headquartered in the Asia Pacific region and selects the top 15 (ALB Top 15 In-house Teams).
The Korea-US legal team consists of 10 members including Director Nam Ji-seon, who is the general manager and leader, and professional lawyers. They support various legal issues within the group, prepare standard contract forms for contract work efficiency, and support legal management. This year, they achieved results such as reorganizing company regulations and preparing an E-company regulations, publishing a legal team newsletter, and strengthening legal awareness and legal education for employees.
In addition, Hanmi Pharm’s legal team won two awards at the ‘ALB Law Korea Awards’ hosted by ALB in 2022: ‘Innovative In-house Team of the Year’ and ‘ESG In-house Team of the Year.’ In 2023, it was honored with the ‘Korea In-house Team of the Year,’ which is an award given to only one team among domestic corporate legal teams.
Director Nam said, “In line with the growth and advancement of the Hanmi Group, the legal team has also continuously strived to create legal results,” and added, “I am pleased that these efforts and results are continuing to receive positive evaluations from external global media every year. We will continue to work hard to strengthen our capabilities as a specialized department to support the group’s leadership in legal management.”
This year, ALB selected the Asia Top 15 In-House Legal Teams along with GlaxoSmithKline (Japan), Nestlé (Philippines), and Bank of Singapore (Singapore). Hanmi Pharmaceutical is the first domestic company to be selected for two consecutive years.
