We have just entered the final phase of the US presidential elections, the results of which will be known in the coming hours. Analysts have been trying for many months to predict who will emerge victorious – former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris. Today, however, he appeared in the middle of these heated debates an unexpected expert, and we are talking about an Internet sensation in the form of a female pygmy hippopotamus named Moo Deng, who has recently been the talk of the world.
The animal’s guardians are trying to take advantage of this popularity, and their latest idea is to predict the results of the presidential elections in the United States. How? The hippopotamus was given two bowls of fruit, each bearing the name of one of the candidates – Moo Deng’s role was to “make an independent choice”. AND the little hippopotamus chose, completely ignoring women’s solidarity and choosing Donald Trump.
And even though joking about such important elections from the world’s perspective – experts have no doubt that these include, among others: the fate of Ukraine and the Middle East – may seem inappropriate, social media users agree that this joking reference to the election fever of recent months is very refreshing.
Especially that media coverage has recently been dominated by the US presidential race, and we also had a very turbulent campaignmarked by brutal language, verbal and physical attacks (recall the attack on Donald Trump) and the spread of disinformation.
It is also a way to draw attention to endangered speciesbecause although Moo Deng’s popularity attracted criticism from PETA, which last month condemned her breeding in captivity, many people learned that Choeropsis liberiensis, whose natural habitat is West Africa, is an endangered species. International Union for Conservation of Nature estimates the world population at 2 to 2.5 thousand. individuals who are threatened by, among others, habitat loss and poaching.
