In connection with the accusations against the karate coach from Szolnok, new details have come to light. The coach who abused a seven-year-old boy in an adventure park had previously been regularly violent towards his students. A former student has now spoken out and shared details about what happened at the training sessions.
A former student, Márton Hagyó, who was a member of the Jászberény sports association, reported on the behavior of karate coach Tibor A. According to Hagyó, the recently released video perfectly reflects the atmosphere of the training sessions and the violence prevailing there, he writes a Blikk.hu

“Many people in the association expressed their violent tendencies, especially those who were victims of abuse at home,” said Márton Hagyó. “If someone made a mistake or deserved a penalty, the coach would often ask, ‘Do you want hamstrings or abs?’ The entire group had to watch the punishment. The coach regularly hit a place where the child did not expect it.”
According to Hagyó, even as a child, he felt that something was wrong with the training sessions, so he only remained a member of the association for two months. “The coach always found a way to abuse the kids without it being known. If the video hadn’t gone public, this could have continued for years.”
The child’s self-blame
Speaking to Blikk, the mother of the abused boy said that she found out about what happened in the camp days later. The child did not dare to tell the incident because he believed that he was to blame and deserved the abuse.
“I asked Roli why he didn’t tell me about it and he replied that he behaved badly and he definitely deserved it. Crying, she repeated that she really believed he deserved it. I tried to reassure him that this was extremely stupid and that he should not even think about it. The poor child blames himself,” said the mother.
The story shows how serious the consequences of coach abuse can be and how important it is that such cases come to light and have appropriate consequences.
