The WBA Gold Cruiserweight world champion, Paul Bamba, passed away on Saturday, just a week after winning his world belt, reports Le Figaro.
The news was announced on Instagram by Ne-Yo, the boxer’s agent and representative. Paul Bamba was crowned world champion with the WBA Gold Cruiserweight belt just one week ago after defeating Mexico’s Rogelio Medina.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, friend and boxing champion Paul Bamba (…) He was a wonderful person who inspired many people with his exceptional drive and determination.”
