Beverly Bryan has initiated civil and criminal proceedings through a law firm against Dr Thomas Shaknovsky following the death of William, her husband of 33 years, according to Newsweek.
She said her 70-year-old husband died days later in an operating room at Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast Hospital in Walton County, Fla., during an emergency procedure.
Last month, the couple from Alabama were visiting their property in Okaloosa County, Florida, when William began complaining of severe pain in the left side of his abdomen.
The doctors discovered that he had a problem with his spleen and proposed to have it operate. William reportedly asked to be released from the hospital, intending to go to his doctor in Alabama, but was “persuaded” to stay and undergo the procedure, according to a press release from the law firm representing his wife .
