69-year-old Vladimir Korzinin from Estonia earned almost eight million dollars in a few days at one of the most prestigious poker tournaments in the world. Just a year ago, he did not know how to play poker, today people all over the world are trying to unravel his secret.
“He is a mystical figure for the Estonian poker community as well,” Laur Sibold, president of the Estonian Tournament Poker Federation, told Business Day. Santa Claus, the wizard, Gambledore and even Leo Tolstoy – that’s what the commentators watching the prestigious Triton Series poker tournament in Monte Carlo called Vladimir. The image of a wise old man was not only created by Vladimir’s appearance. As one poker review wrote, he “created an aura of powerful love around him” at the tournament. He sent the eliminated opponents away with a warm hug and a phrase „I love you”.
“He is a very mysterious person, but very spiritual and warm-hearted. In my opinion, he is the embodiment of goodness and peace,” said a poker player who knows Vladimir personally, but who wished to remain anonymous, to Äripää.
