Florin Prunea could not help himself after the harsh speech of Elias Charalambous to the Dynamo announcer. The reply was downright devastating.
The whole discussion started from a joke made by Ștefan Știucă – former contestant on Vocea României – during the derby with FCSB in the Romanian Cup. He announced a change of the red-blues as being operated by the financier Gigi Becali.
Florin Prunea put the guns on Elias Charalambous
Elias Charalambous bluntly stated, a few days after the match won without emotions, score 4-0, that “that person should be removed from football and from the big clubs”. Disturbed by this reaction, Florin Prunea launched into a real tirade against the coach.
First he compared him to Popeye the Sailor, a character from the cartoons, after which he reminded him who actually dictates the changes in the champion’s camp: the boss.
“The muscles on him swelled up. Say it’s Popeye the Sailor! Mr. Charalambous, that’s his job, I don’t agree with what that boy said either. But you can’t say that he has nothing to look for such a man in football or to kick him out.
What, are you doing things at Dinamo? He swells up, who doesn’t even make the changes. (…) Elias Charalambous, the number 1 coach in Romania, for real?”, the former great goalkeeper raged, at Digi Sport.
Adrian Mutu, merciless: “A bad joke. Let’s go to comedy”
Charalambous was not the only one who didn’t like the announcer’s joke at the Dinamo – FCSB derby. And Adrian Mutu attacked him without planningconvinced that he must receive respect in the stadium.
“I have read, I agree with Andrei Nicolescu in what he said, I agree with him. I really liked his attitude when he said that these jokes are not done. Dinamo does not make such jokes. He did not respect the opponent, but neither did we. This is what it means to be professional, this must be Dinamo.
Let this circus go… Let’s go to the comedy, to him there. You want to stand out, announcer… you have to have respect for your opponents and for this sport. I wasn’t kicking him out, because it’s his first offence. But he sure got a warning. You don’t do something like that at Dinamo, especially with the rivalry that was, is and will be, you don’t treat it like you want to make jokes. A bad joke at a bad time,” declared “The Brilliant” for fanatik.ro.
