On Thursday night a man in the area of ​​Chania and specifically in the coastal area of ​​Koum Kapi, without any apparent reason, attacked an elderly woman, beating her and throwing her to the ground.

In fact, the woman, frightened, with the help of passers-by got up beaten and immediately left the area. However, there was a lot of disturbance from passers-by and a strong reaction from those present.

The perpetrator, taking advantage of the disturbance, ran towards the beach area to hide in the rocky area and, taking off his clothes, tried to pretend to be a swimmer, as if nothing had happened. Unfortunately for him, at the time of the incident and as the perpetrator was running and trying to hide, the well-known Chanio boxer Manolis Sarikakis was passing by, along with his athletes, as reported by ufight.gr.

In the presence of many people, Manolis Sarikakis he ran, caught up with the assailant and initially tried, in a mild verbal way, to reason with him and delay him until the police arrived, who had been called by passers-by present at the incident. The perpetrator, trying to scare and avoid the Chanio boxer, first attacked him verbally, cursing and spitting at him, and then throwing stones at him.

Finally, going up to him, he tried to hit him with his hands, thinking that this would frighten him and drive him away. But, unfortunately for him, the perpetrator “found his teacher” , the Chaniotis boxer did not take a step back. Moving towards him, saying his attribute he quickly defended himself against the blows and returned the attack with two light blows causing the assailant to fall to the ground and then holding him down immobilized him immediately.

They gathered at the spot about 30 people from passers-by, including elderly residents of the area, who congratulated and thanked the Chanio boxer for his immediate intervention, as well as the police authorities. When the police arrived, with immediate actions and exceptional professionalism, they proceeded to arrest the perpetrator and took him to the police station.
