The former FCSB footballer, who spent six months on the road, found his team
A footballer who was registered at FCSB in the period 2017-2022, which was without a team for six months, he managed to find a new commitment. It is about Robert Ion, a player who was transferred to Gigi Becali’s team from AS Metropolitan in 2017. Even though he was seen as a player with a great future, Robert Ion was loaned by FCSB to teams such as Academica Clinceni and FC Voluntari .
After parting with Gigi Becali’s band, the player tried to revitalize his career and signed a contract with Farul Constanța. He failed to adapt to the team led by Gică Hagi, with whom he parted after only half a season.
In January 2023, Robert Ion reached an agreement with Poli Iași, a team with which he succeeded in promotion to the first echelon of Romanian football, at the end of the 2022-2023 season. In the first part of the last season, the footballer managed to get more minutes in the field for the Moldovan team, but in the second part of the season he disappeared from the landscape and was no longer part of the Iași team in most of the matches. Thus, the two sides parted ways and Robert Ion was without a team for half the season.
Now the footballer has found a club to perform at next season. The 23-year-old midfielder has reached an agreement with Concordia Chiajna, as he has already played in a few training matches. Robert Ion is not the only shot given by the second division this summer. Adrian Petre and Dan Spătaru, who passed by FCSB, signed in turn with Ilfoven.
How did Robert Ion manage at Poli Iasi
Robert Ion played last season at Poli Iasi, team for which he managed to make 18 appearances. In the matches played, he scored only one goal, and the management of the Copou club decided that they could do without the services of the young midfielder. Thus, the player remained without a team for half the season.
According to the specialized platform Transfermarkt, Robert Ion is currently valued at 200,000 euros.
