The young moped driver is suspected of grossly endangering traffic safety, driving a vehicle without a license, driver’s license and vehicle violations.
A young man driving a moped without a license plate started to run away from a police patrol he spotted in Kontiolahti on September 23, 2024.
At worst, the moped drove police patrols at up to 80 km/h with one passenger on board, and didn’t care about the police’s stop lights and sounds.
Other road users, such as cyclists, pedestrians and people at the bus stop, had to give way to the moped on the sidewalks.
The moped driver was driving at a considerable speed, endangering other road users and passengers, and the driving took place on light traffic lanes, crosswalks, ditches, and in the yard of Lehmo school.
