Mauza chief headman son kidnapped at gunpoint in Bandarban. The abductee’s name is Mongting Marma (38). This incident happened at 8 o’clock in Pone on Tuesday.
According to law enforcement forces and locals, Bandarban was returning from supervising the construction work of a restaurant named Ecovalley in Ganesh Para area of Suwalak Union of Sadar Upazila. At that time, the armed terrorists from the hills abducted the son of Sualak Mouja headman Mangthwai Ching Chowdhury at gunpoint.
The abducted person has been identified as Mongting Marma (38). After the abduction, 4/5 of the armed terrorists were taken to the hills. After receiving the news, the local residents searched the mountains in a group, but no trace of him was found till ten at night. It is initially believed that he was abducted to collect extortion.
Mangthwai Ching Chowdhury, the headman of the abducted father Sualak Mouja, said that his son was abducted in the evening from the side road of the restaurant under construction in Ganesh Para area. Everyone is searching in the surrounding mountains.
Ukynu Marma, Chairman of Sualak Union, said, “My cousin is about the abducted youth.” Since the abduction, he has not been found after searching the hills with all the neighbors.
Bandarban Additional Superintendent of Police Hossain confirmed the truth of the incident. Raihan Kazemi said, I heard the news of kidnapping. So far no complaint has been made by the family. The abductee is being investigated.
