On the eve of the official release, Nvidia showed how the post-apocalyptic open-world shooter STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl from GSC Game World looks in 4K resolution and with DLSS 3 technology.
A 57-second video published on the Nvidia GeForce YouTube channel demonstrates the operation of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl in 4K with DLSS 3 (109−149 fps) and without it (55−70 fps).
The configuration on which the gameplay was recorded is not specified. In Nvidia’s tests, only a PC with an Intel Core i9-14900K, GeForce RTX 4090 and 64 GB of RAM produced more than 120 fps in 4K with DLSS 3.
The demonstration of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl from Nvidia alarmed players: firstly, by the mentioned lack of information about the PC configuration, and, secondly, by the slowdowns observed in the video.
The comments criticized the Unreal Engine 5 on which the game is based and Nvidia’s frame generation technology. Gamers are preparing for problems with optimization at release. “Something doesn’t feel right to me, to be honest,” fears sonicvision9927.
The developers promise the game a seamless open world with an area of 60 km2, hardcore gameplay, a main plot of about 40 hours, at least three endings and text translation into Russian.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released on November 20 on PC (Steam, GOG, EGS, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X and S, as well as Game Pass. The first reviews of the game will appear just two hours before the official release.
